(Lynbrook, New York) -- Today, Senator Todd Kaminsky joined local leaders in Lynbrook to unveil new renovations at Greis Park. After receiving a $50,000 grant from Senator Kaminsky, Greis Park is now equipped with a sunshade that will provide local children and their parents with protection from the sun.
“The improvements made here will offer Lynbrook residents a more enjoyable experience at Greis Park just in time for the hot summer months,” said Senator Todd Kaminsky. “I was proud to have secured this $50,000 grant for the Lynbrook community, and I am confident that this new sunshade will go to good use for community members of all ages.”
“It is very important to protect children from the hot sun while they are outside playing during the warmer months,” said Assemblywoman Judy Griffin. “Thank you to Senator Todd Kaminsky for bringing this much needed funding to Lynbrook's Greis Park for a shade structure to keep our residents safe from the sun.”
“The new shade structure at Greis Park is a great enhancement to the playground that provides much needed shade so families can enjoy the park in comfort on hot summer days. This is a great example of teamwork and collaboration by our local officials and village employees to obtain funding and construct something we can all be proud of,” said Lynbrook Mayor Alan Beach.
“This shade structure is a great safety feature for the park so that young children can enjoy the playground without parents worrying about hot surfaces from the summer sun,” said Lynbrook Deputy Mayor Mike Hawxhurst.
