Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins to Visit New Temporary COVID-19 Testing Site in Yonkers

Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins will visit the new temporary COVID-19 testing center at St. Peter- St. Denis Church at 91 Ludlow Street, Yonkers, NY on Tuesday, June 2 nd , at 10:00 a.m.
The Majority Leader, who was instrumental in working with the governor’s office to create this new site, will join Dr. Ramon Tallaj and leadership from SOMOS Community Care, a network to improve healthcare for Medicaid recipients.
The senator will also visit the church’s food pantry that serves over 500 families at 9:30 a.m. that
morning.
“We must continue to prioritize testing as a defense against this pandemic, and ensure testing
centers are in accessible locations for all members of our community,” the Majority Leader said.
The site will be operational from 9 am- 1 pm Monday through Friday and is being run by SOMOS
Community Care. The site will offer both COVID-19 (nose swab) and antibody (serologic) testing.
Testing is by appointment only.
