Senator James Skoufis (D-Hudson Valley) and his team volunteered during the Friday morning shift at the Hudson Valley Food Bank in an effort to support food pantries across the Senate District. His team will be volunteering weekly at the food bank for the duration of the pandemic. In addition to this, Skoufis released an interactive map outlining all the food programs (food banks, food pantries, and soup kitchens) in the 39th Senate District. This resource can be found on his senate website: nysenate.gov/senators/james-skoufis.
Senator James Skoufis said, “My team and I are committed to being as helpful as possible during this crisis and doing our part to be here for the community. During these past two weeks, my team and I continue to work around the clock, fielding over 1000 constituent inquiries since the start of the pandemic and treating them all with the urgency they deserve. We want to continue to have a real impact in our community, so a number of us will be volunteering at the Food Bank every Friday moving forward. This week, we released an interactive map that details all the food programs in our district that’s available for everyone on my Senate website.”
Paul Stermer, Director of the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley said, “I thank Senator Skoufis for his continued dedication to the mission of the Food Bank, especially during times like these when our communities are depending on us now more than ever. I encourage those who can, to reach out about volunteering with us and look forward to having Senator Skoufis' team with us on a weekly basis moving forward.”
In addition to these initiatives, Senator Skoufis has been sending regular email updates to constituents and encourages people to sign up for them by emailing skoufis@nysenate.gov. Skoufis’ office continues to be operational and available by email or phone: 845.567.1270.
