Senator Fred Akshar Kicks-off Upstate Business Recovery and Reopening Tour with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies

(BINGHAMTON, NY) As upstate communities across the 52nd Senate District work toward a safe and responsible return to life after the COVID-19 pandemic, Senator Fred Akshar will embark on a district-wide Business Recovery and Reopening Tour.
Over the next several months, Sen. Akshar will meet with local business owners and workers across Broome, Tioga, Chenango and Delaware Counties to discuss how the state can better assist them recover from the crippling pandemic. Akshar will also be delivering hand sanitizer to each location.
“Our upstate businesses and their employees struggled in New York’s crippling business climate BEFORE the pandemic devastated our economy,” said Senator Fred Akshar. “We must do everything we can to make life easier and help them succeed. That starts with getting out in the district, listening and learning first-hand about the various challenges they face.”
Akshar will kicked-off the tour on Tuesday with visit to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies to deliver 200 gallons of hand sanitizer as they prepare for their Opening Day on May 11th.
“This type of community support shows how right the New York Mets were when entrusting their top prospects to the City of Binghamton," said Rumble Ponies President, John Hughes. "Preparing for Opening Day this year has been an incredible challenge. The assistance from Senator Akshar will help ensure that RumbleTown is fully prepared to keep fans, staff and players safe throughout the 2021 season."
