BROOKLYN, NY -- Senator-elect Jabari Brisport, a racial justice activist and former public school math teacher, officially opened his district office on Monday, January 4th. The occasion falls two days before he is set to become the first ever LGBTQ+ person of color in the New York State Legislature.
The physical office is located at The Shirley Chisholm State Office Building, 55 Hanson Place, Suite 702, Brooklyn NY 11217. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the office will operate remotely for the foreseeable future
“NY is facing unprecedented challenges in the wake of 2020. Building a future that works for working-class people in the midst of this crisis is going to be an uphill battle, but it’s one we intend to win by fighting together as a community” said Chief of Staff, Kara Clark. “Today, we’re hitting the ground running, because that’s what the situation demands and what our community needs.”
The office can be reached by emailing constituent@jabariforstatesenate.com or calling 718-643-6140 from 9:00-5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Three full-time advocates will be available to work directly with constituents.
