Statement from Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C-Glenville) On NYS Court of Appeals Redistricting Decision

“The Courts have spoken and they agree with what I said when the Majority first passed these redistricting maps. This was never really a redistricting; it was a savage attack on our democracy where the Majority used the nuclear option to ignore the will of voters who wanted an independent redistricting process. Now, I hope a special court-appointed master will follow the guidelines of the constitution and develop districts where voters pick their elected officials and not where elected officials get to pick who should be on the ballot before voters.”
