SYRACUSE, NY – Senator John W. Mannion today announced over $1.7 million for library capital projects across the 50th Senate District. The funding was included in the 2021-2022 New York State budget.
Senator John W. Mannion said, “I’m extremely pleased to have secured over $1.7 million to enhance the visitor experience and community value of local libraries across the 50th Senate District. Modern libraries are a marvel – they are catchalls where we learn, play, and gather with our neighbors. If you haven’t visited your public library in a while – I encourage you to take advantage of this valuable community resource.”
Senator Mannion consistently partners with libraries to host community events like mobile office hours, literacy campaigns, and expanding library programming and digital collections.
The capital projects funded in the state budget will improve accessibility, energy efficiency, security, HVAC, parking lots, and outdoor spaces.
