(Port Chester, NY) – State Senator Shelley B. Mayer’s Youth Advisory Council will hold its 2nd Annual Coat and Diaper Drive at Port Chester Village Hall on Saturday, Jan. 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This drive-thru, drop off event will benefit The Sharing Shelf, an organization dedicated to fighting clothing insecurity in Westchester County. Donors are asked to remain inside their vehicles while making their donations. Masked volunteers will be on-site at Port Chester Village Hall, located at 222 Grace Church Street, to take donations directly from vehicles.
Needed items include:
- Coats (new or gently used)
- Diapers
- Baby wipes
- Face masks
Senator Mayer said: “I’m extremely proud of my Youth Advisory Council for their dedication to our neighbors, especially during these cold winter months. They were very successful with this event last year, collecting over 250 coats for those in need. We look forward to this year’s drive and thank our donors in advance for their generosity.”
The Sharing Shelf Executive Director Deborah Blatt said: “We are grateful to the Youth Advisory Council and Senator Mayer for their partnership and for highlighting clothing insecurity and diaper poverty. This drive will have a direct and immediate impact on local families."
