Senator Dan Stec (R,C-Queensbury) today joined his Senate Republican colleagues in announcing the conference’s Rescue New York 2023 legislative agenda. The agenda includes a broad range of common-sense policies to prioritize public safety, affordability and economic development.
“A strong majority of New Yorkers have made it clear that change is sorely needed in our state,” said Stec. “Rescue New York offers a comprehensive plan to make our state safer, more affordable and more economically vibrant for this generation and for years to come. It’s crucial that we act now and get our state heading in the right direction again.”
The “Rescue New York” 2023 Legislative Agenda is a comprehensive plan to improve public safety, ease the financial burden on middle-class families and small business owners and restore the quality of life in communities throughout New York State. Components of the Rescue New York plan focus on:
- A Safer New York, by restoring common sense to our criminal justice system to prevent crime and protect law-abiding residents and increasing investments to address the opioid and mental health epidemics;
- A Stronger New York, by investing in a modern infrastructure, expanding economic opportunity and workforce development initiatives; and
- A More Affordable New York, by reining in state spending and nation-leading tax burden, improving our business climate and pursuing policies that lower the cost of living and address rising inflation rates.
