Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins joined in celebrating the extraordinary lives of five centenarians at Cabrini of Westchester in Dobbs Ferry

New York State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins joined in celebrating the extraordinary lives of five centenarians at Cabrini of Westchester in Dobbs Ferry on Friday, May 24. 

Theresa Izzo, Helen Nathanson, Anna Ciccone, Sr. Margaret Hernandez, and Sr. Rose Golden were each honored for reaching the incredible milestone of living over 100 years. During the celebration, Sen. Stewart-Cousins presented each centenarian with a Senate Resolution recognizing their remarkable achievements and contributions to their communities.

“It is truly an honor to celebrate the lives of these remarkable individuals who have witnessed a century of change and progress. Their resilience, wisdom, and enduring spirits serve as an inspiration to us all,” Sen. Stewart-Cousins said. “These centenarians stand as shining examples of resilience, perseverance, and the power of the human spirit. Their lives serve as a reminder of the importance of cherishing each moment and embracing the wisdom that comes with age.”

Friday’s celebration at Cabrini was a touching celebration attended by the centenarians’ friends and family, as well as Cabrini staff and management.

“Cabrini of Westchester was honored to celebrate such a happy occasion with the residents who have achieved this incredible milestone. On behalf of the Administration, Board of Trustees, the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and most especially the residents, we thank Senator Stewart-Cousins for recognizing each of the esteemed Centenarians and for her continued support and friendship,” said Bonita Burke, Cabrini Administrator and Vice President of Operations.
