
Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins Receives Honorary Doctorate from Pace University

(Pleasantville, NY) – New York State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Pace University on Monday.
Senator Stewart-Cousins, a proud double-alumna of Pace University, was unable to attend the Commencement Ceremony on May 20th due to the legislative calendar. However, she expressed her gratitude and shared a heartfelt message with the 2024 graduates through video remarks.
“I am deeply honored to accept an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters,” said Senator Stewart-Cousins. “This recognition is profoundly meaningful to me as a proud alumna of Pace University. It underscores the enduring value and transformative power of education. My experiences at Pace have significantly shaped my career and commitment to public service. I am grateful for the opportunities and support I received as a student.”
Senator Stewart-Cousins received the degree in recognition of “her tireless dedication to public service, her transformative impact on New York State, and for modeling all that a Pace graduate can accomplish,” according to the Honorary Degree Citation.
Senator Stewart-Cousins also extended her thanks to Pace University President Marvin Krislov for his leadership and congratulated the 2024 graduates on their achievements.
“I extend my sincere thanks to President Marvin Krislov for his exceptional leadership. I look forward to our continued collaboration on behalf of the entire Pace community,” said Senator Stewart-Cousins.
The honorary degree will be formally presented at the Spirit of Pace Awards Dinner.
