New York State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, New York State Department of Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon and New York State Department of Civil Service Commissioner Timothy R. Hogues hosted a successful Civil Service Job Fair

(Yonkers, NY) - New York State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, New York State Department of Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon and New York State Department of Civil Service Commissioner Timothy R. Hogues hosted a successful Civil Service Job Fair Thursday at the Yonkers Riverfront Library. The Job Fair was attended by nearly 600 individuals, showcasing the eagerness and enthusiasm of New Yorkers to pursue careers in public service.

Civil service jobs are more accessible than ever before, due in part to a FY ‘24 State Budget initiative passed under Sen. Stewart-Cousins’ leadership ensuring that civil service exam fees will be waived for all examinations through the end of 2025.

Thursday’s Job Fair provided a forum for individuals to engage with representatives from 30 state agencies, including the NYS Department of Labor, NYPD Recruitment Section, NYS OPWDD Hudson Valley DDSO, NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, Federal Air Marshal Service, Internal Revenue Service, NYS Department of Financial Services, New York State Thruway Authority, ACCES VR, NYS Department of Civil Service, New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, NYS Office of Children and Family Services, and more.

Even as the event concluded, interested candidates are encouraged to explore opportunities by signing up at StateJobs.ny.gov, where over 2,000 state jobs are currently available.

Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins said, “Today's Civil Service Job Fair exemplifies our unwavering commitment to providing opportunities and fostering growth within our communities. I extend my thanks to Commissioner Reardon and Commissioner Hogues for their partnership in making this event a resounding success.
