Griffo: Communities and counties to receive funding to assist with replacement of bridges and culverts

New York State Sen. Joseph Griffo, R-C-Rome and a member of the Senate’s Transportation Committee, announced today that several communities and counties in the 53rd Senate District will be receiving BRIDGE NY funding for the replacement of bridges or culverts. 
 
Funding allocated to Sen. Griffo's district includes:
 
Madison County 
  • $2.111 million to Madison County Highway Department for the replacement of Creek Road (Route 29) bridge over Cowaselon Creek.
  • $1.495 million to the Town of DeRuyter for the replacement of Williams Road culvert carrying Middle Branch Tioughnioga Creek.
  • $1.158 million to the Town of Lenox for the replacement of Lewis Street culvert carrying Canastota Creek.
Oneida County 
  • $2.396 million to the Town of Kirkland for the replacement of Norton Avenue (Route 15A) bridge over Oriskany Creek.
  • $2.772 million to Oneida County for the replacement of Brewer Road bridge over West Branch Fish Creek.
  • $2.502 million to Oneida County for the replacement of Route 50 bridge over Stony Creek.
  • $1.498 million to the Town of Verona for the replacement of Woodcreek Road culvert carrying the tributary to Woodcreek.
  • $0.891 million to the Town of Kirkland for the replacement of Craig Road culvert carrying Sherman Brook.
Chenango County 
  • $1.446 million to the Town of Sherburne for the replacement of Pleasant Valley Road culvert carrying Negro Hollow.
 
“This important funding will help local governments in the 53rd Senate District make needed improvements to bridges and culverts within their communities and counties,” Sen. Griffo said. “These projects will enhance safety, improve connectivity and help to drive economic opportunity. I will continue to advocate for parity to ensure that upstate cities, towns and villages are treated fairly and that they get the resources they need to address infrastructure -related concerns and issues.”
