Addabbo Drops Off Donations to Sacred Heart Pantry As It Stocks Up for Another Season
September 11, 2024
Over the last month Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. and his offices have been collecting food and personal care items to help Sacred Heart Pantry in Glendale fill its shelves during the month of August when it closes to restock and gets ready to open in September for a new season. Today, he dropped off the bountiful supply and the volunteers at the pantry were very appreciative. Senator Addabbo met with Tara Jackson Baer, the Food Pantry Coordinator and Nancy Baer, Sacred Heart Pastoral Associate, Retired, now serving as a volunteer.
“As children go back to school and the fall and winter holidays arrive, the need is greater than ever, so it was natural for me to take the lead and call upon the generosity of the community to help their neighbors,” Addabbo said. “We have a lot of good, caring, kind-hearted people in the district and this large collection of food and supplies that we were able to drop off today demonstrates that. Of course, we know, unfortunately the need is persistent, so we will plan to host another drive sometime in mid-winter. I want to extend my sincere thanks to Scared Heart Pantry for all they do, and to everyone who contributed to this collection drive and made it a success.”
