Addabbo Honors Cooks Arts & Crafts Shoppe As a NYS Historic Business

September 18, 2024) - Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr.  congratulated Cook’s Arts & Crafts Shoppe in Glendale on its over 50 years in business within the community by submitting it to be recognized as a New York State Historical Business.

Originally founded in 1970 by Virginia Cook, who transformed her family’s TV and radio repair business into a haven for arts and crafts, Cook’s Crafts has been a cherished part of the community for decades. Virginia’s passion for crafting and her dedication to sharing that love with others have paved the way for generations of craft enthusiasts.

As the son of the original owner, Bill Cook, along with his daughter Michelle and her husband Frank, continue to uphold Virginia’s legacy, ensuring that every age and season is celebrated through creative expression.

“Cook’s Arts & Crafts Shoppe is more than just a store; it is a legacy of creativity, family, and community,” Addabbo said. “Virginia Cook’s vision has touched so many lives, and I am proud to see her spirit live on through the hard work of her family.
