Senator Parker turkey giveaway

Brooklyn, NY – State Senator Kevin Parker had the honor to announce the 21st Annual Turkey Giveaway, a cherished tradition that provides holiday meals to local families in need. The event took place on November 23, 2024, at Vanderveer Park United Methodist Church where constituents, including families and organizations, received free turkeys for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

This year’s turkey giveaway was made possible through the generous support of key community partners: Spectrum Charter, A Shared Dream Foundation, Kings’ Plaza, and EmblemHealth, where over 1,000+ turkeys were given away. Their commitment to giving back plays a pivotal role in ensuring that no family goes without during this season of gratitude.

"Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks and sharing our blessings," said Senator Parker. "Through this event, we can support over 50 local organizations, including shelters, churches, and daycares, providing families with contributions to a warm meal and a sense of community. It’s always a privilege to be part of this tradition, which strengthens our neighborhood and reminds us of the power of collective action."

The 21st Annual Turkey Giveaway will serve constituents in need, ensuring that those who might otherwise struggle during the holidays are provided for. In addition to the turkeys, Senator Parker was joined by local leaders, volunteers, and sponsors in distributing food and spreading holiday cheer.
