Senator Gallivan Announces State Grants to Improve Workplace Safety

Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C, Elma) announces state grants have been awarded to two local organizations to support the Occupational Safety and Health Training and Education Program and to enhance workplace safety and health standards. The funding comes from the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL), in collaboration with the Hazard Abatement Board (HAB),
“This funding supports our local workforce and businesses by emphasizing the importance of training and education in creating safer work environments for everyone,” Senator Gallivan said. “I congratulate those receiving the grants and wish them success with the program.”
These funds are earmarked for a variety of safety and health training and education programs, including toxic substance education and training focused on the prevention of occupational diseases and injuries.
Within the 60th Senate District represented by Senator Gallivan, grants have been awarded to:
- Operating Engineers Local 17 Training Fund, Lake View: $102,493
- Whiting Door Manufacturing Corporation, Akron: $23,737
Statewide, over $5.3 million in grants to various organizations have been announced as part of the Occupational Safety and Health Training and Education Program.
