Albany, N.Y., January 13— To kick off the beginning of the 2025 legislative session, State Senator Tom O’Mara (R,C-Big Flats) joined his Senate Republican colleagues at the Capitol today to unveil “Liberate New York,” a comprehensive legislative agenda of policy goals they plan to prioritize to counteract the radical, progressive direction of New York government under all-Democrat, one-party control.
O’Mara said, “Many New Yorkers are looking for a redirection of priorities and resources to begin truly addressing unmet challenges and crises, as well as charting a course for a saner, more sensible, and more sustainable state government. For far too long now, New Yorkers across the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions, throughout Upstate New York, and statewide, have worried about making ends meet. They have watched this state become less safe, less affordable, less free, less economically competitive, less responsible, and certainly far less hopeful for the future. It’s time to get this state back on track towards a safer and stronger future.”
Extreme policies enacted because of the Democrats’ complete control of state government have had a direct effect on the quality of life and opportunity across this state, Republicans charged.
“Liberate New York,” (see attachment above) which the Senate GOP will propose in more detail over the coming weeks, prioritizes improving affordability, improving public safety and security, and building a stronger and safer New York focused on the following overriding policy goals:
> Provide Affordability and Economic Opportunity
> Create a Safer, Healthier New York
> End the Migrant Crisis
> Protect Students and Defend Parental Right
> Call For Government Accountability
