NY State Senator Kristen Gonzalez Honors the 60th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday
On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, the NYS Majority Leader, Andrea Stewart Cousins introduced J489, a Senate Resolution to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday and the Selma-to-Montgomery march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, which served as a catalyst for passage of the 1965 Voting Rights Act.
Chair of the NYS Senate Elections Committee, Senator Kristen Gonzalez spoke on the Senate floor in support of the resolution.
