Join Senator Murray in holding reckless drivers accountable.

Each year too many lives are taken by reckless hit and run drivers. This is why I am proud to sponsor "Nick's Law" (S.3639) in the New York State Senate. Nick's Law is named in honor of Nick Puzio who tragically lost his life after being struck by two drivers, both who fled the scene of the accident. This bill would elevate the crime of a hit and run which results in a death to a Class B felony resulting in up to 25 years in jail. Nick's law aims to reduce the number of fatalities by holding those who cause these tragic deaths accountable by creating higher penalties and fines.
