14 SENATOR CARLUCCI: Thank you,
15 Mr. President.
16 I want to thank my colleagues for
17 supporting this legislation. This is sending a
18 strong message to the people of New York State
19 to say our public highways are not a NASCAR
20 racetrack, that if you want to race cars, you
21 go to a private track, to a private club.
22 This is important legislation to
23 say we're taking a zero-tolerance policy when
24 it comes to drag racing in New York.
25 Unfortunately, we've seen tragic accidents and
224
1 have spoken to the parents that have lost
2 children at such a young age. We've got to
3 make sure that we take a zero-tolerance policy,
4 and I want to thank my colleagues for
5 supporting this legislation.
6 Thank you, Mr. President.
7 ACTING PRESIDENT FARLEY: The
8 Secretary will announce the results.

17 seems to be no more business up here.
18 (Laughter.)
19 SENATOR LIBOUS: Mr. President,
20 at this time, in consultation with Senator
21 Sampson, I would like to hand up the following
22 committee assignments and ask that such
23 assignments be filed in the Journal, please.
24 ACTING PRESIDENT FARLEY: So
25 ordered.
225
1 SENATOR LIBOUS: Thank you,
