2 THE PRESIDENT: The Senate will

4 I ask everyone present to please
5 rise and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

14 if I may, and just say it's an honor to be here
15 as Lieutenant Governor to preside over this
16 extraordinary session to tackle this very, very
17 serious issue.
18 I know that you've all been hard at
19 work throughout the day yesterday and this
20 morning. Extraordinary times call for
21 extraordinary sessions like these. And it is
22 incumbent upon all of us to show up and do the
23 work. So I want to just thank each and every one
24 of you for your time and for your commitment.

3 Welcome, and congratulations. It is
4 wonderful to have you here before us in this
5 great chamber here today as we do the people's
6 business.

16 Extraordinary Session, at the Capitol, in the
17 City of Albany, on the 30th day of June, 2022, at
18 12 o'clock p.m. for the purpose of:
19 "Considering legislation I will
20 submit with respect to addressing necessary
21 statutory changes regarding firearm safety, in a
22 way that ensures protection of public safety and
23 health, after the United States Supreme Court
24 decision in New York State Rifle and Pistol
25 Association, Inc. v. Bruen.
