Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently visited Birch Elementary School in Merrick to thank students and staff for once again participating in his “Extend the Holidays” toy drive.
“Each year, Birch’s students and staff do an outstanding job collecting toys for this program, and this year was no exception. Each toy they collected will help brighten the spirits of children in Winthrop Hospital. I really appreciate their hard work and generosity and thank them for participating in this program once again,” said Senator Fuschillo.
“Extend the Holidays” is an annual toy drive that Senator Fuschillo organizes for the benefit of children in Winthrop Hospital’s Pediatric Center. Birch Elementary School students and staff collected new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages. These toys will be delivered to the hospital after the holidays so that children can experience the joys of receiving a new toy after the holiday season and throughout the year.
