Brooklyn, NY– State Senator Kevin Parker has successfully navigated two pivotal bills that underscores his commitment to a sustainable environment and supporting the mental health of military veterans.
"These bills represent a dual commitment – one to our environment and the other to the well-being of our military veterans. S597A and S8076 collectively shape a future where our communities are sustainable, resilient, and supportive of those who have served our nation," said Senator Kevin Parker.
The first bill, S597A, fortifies the municipal sustainable energy loan program by integrating water efficiency and resiliency improvements. This initiative empowers communities to adopt sustainable practices and bolster their resilience against environmental challenges.
The second bill, S8076, focuses on veterans' mental health by compelling the office of mental health to identify and publish resources for the diagnosis and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This legislation ensures easy access to vital information and training programs for military veterans.
As New York State progresses toward a greener and more compassionate future, Senator Parker remains dedicated to legislative efforts that enhance both our environment and the lives of those who have defended our country.
