Community Health Action of Staten Island
Senator Andrew Lanza, Assemblyman Michael Cusick and JCC DART are hosting an opiate overdose prevention event at the Joan and Alan Bernikow JCC of Staten Island at 7:00 p.m. on December 3rd to teach residents how to respond in the event of an opiate overdose.
Opioid antidote programs have been credited with saving dozens of lives in New York. Attendees will learn how to recognize an overdose, what to do in the event of an overdose and how to administer Narcan. Upon completion of the course attendees will be certified to administer Narcan and will receive a free Narcan kit to bring home.
Supplies are limited and residents should contact Senator Lanza’s office or JCC DART in advance to RSVP (718-984-4073 / dburack@sijcc.com).
