Senator Andrew Lanza continues his partnership with Project Renewal’s Scan Van program to provide free mammography screenings and clinical breast exams to women across Staten Island. Each year in New York, over 15,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer and over 2,600 die from the disease. While great strides have been made in the early detection and treatment of breast cancer – and many diagnosed with the disease are living long, healthy lives – the fight against this deadly disease is far from over. Senator Lanza and Project Renewal are committed to educating women about the risks of breast cancer and promoting opportunities for early screenings because early detection saves lives!
