On February 25, I will be hosting the second in my "Conservation Conversations" discussion series with Jennie Romer, attorney and founder of plasticbaglaws.org. Our conversation will touch on the potentially devastating effects that plastic bags have on our environment and wildlife and how we can work to mitigate these risks. The event is being held at the NYU Kimmel Center, Silver Board Room, Room 914 on Thursday, February 25, from 6:30 to 8:00pm, and is co-sponsored by Congressman Jerrold Nadler, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, State Senators Daniel Squadron, Liz Krueger, Adriano Espaillat, and Kevin Parker, Assemblymembers Deborah Glick, Linda B. Rosenthal, Dan Quart, Brian Kavanagh, and Richard Gottfried, Council Members Margaret Chin, Corey Johnson, and Helen Rosenthal, as well as Community Boards 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.
