Senate Investigations Committee to Hold Hearing On Medicaid Inspector General's Office

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Senator Craig M. Johnson, (D-Nassau), Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Investigations and Government Operations, will be holding a hearing on the Office of the Medicaid Inspector General's efforts to crack down on fraud within the Medicaid System.
In this current economic climate, and with increasing pressure to find savings and efficiencies in Medicaid, the Committee is using its oversight capacity to examine the actions and performance of this office.
Medicaid Inspector General James G. Sheehan, and representatives from the healthcare and elder care communities will be among those addressing the committee.
