Senator Jack Martins (R-Mineola) announced that he will be sponsoring a program in New Hyde Park to provide free legal services to those in need.
Senator Martins has arranged to bring the Mobile Legal Help Center to the Herricks Community Center, located at 999 Herricks Road in New Hyde Park, on Friday, August 8th from 10 am to 3 pm. The Mobile Legal Help Center, which is a partnership between the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) and the New York State Office of Court Administration, brings free, civil legal services directly into communities.
NYLAG staff will be available to provide free legal assistance to local residents on issues related to:
• Domestic violence
• Family Law
• Healthcare and disability benefits
• Housing
• Identity theft and consumer credit issues
• Advance Planning
Individuals should bring with them any documentation related to their situation that may be useful to the NYLAG staff in providing assistance. Appointments are recommended but walk-ins will be accepted and served as time permits.
Residents who would like more information about the free legal services program on August 8th or would like to make an appointment should call Senator Martins’ office at 516-746-5924.
