Sanders to Host STEAM Career Workshop

State Senator James Sanders Jr. (D-Rochdale Village, Far Rockaway) will host a STEAM Career Workshop scheduled from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at St. Clare Catholic Academy in Rosedale, Queens. 

The STEAM Career Workshop will feature leading industry professionals who represent diversity in an array of career paths. Through participatory engagement of attending students, parents, parental figures, community and civic leaders we will provide the following for STEM proficient students:
 

• Expose both students and parents to often overlooked careers STEAM fields

• Provide direct opportunities for involvement in STEAM programs 

• Encourage parents to motivate children about STEM careers

• Explore and Identify present and future careers involving STEM

• Introduce positive use of athletics for “A”(initially used exclusively for Art) in STEAM to induce students to understand the presence of STEM in the evolution of new careers in varied fields of sports.
