Senator Serrano to Moderate Panel Discussion on Health Disparities at SOMOS el Futuro Conference

Senator José M. Serrano will moderate a panel discussion at the SOMOS el Futuro Conference weekend in Albany, entitled “Addressing Health Disparities in the Latino Community.” The topic of this workshop is a discussion with experts in the field of health regarding the alarming rate of chronic diseases that are disproportionately affecting the Latino community. Chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, obesity, hypertension, and others have reached epidemic proportions among Latino populations and other communities of color.

PLEASE JOIN US for this very crucial discussion on a matter of critical importance to our community. Attendees will hear from local and state officials who are engaged in strategies targeting these disparities on every level. Find out what you can do to combat chronic disease. We will provide a question and answer period so that attendees can interact directly with experts in the field of health disparities.

This workshop will take place on Saturday, March 22nd, from 10-11:30am, in Meeting Room 2 located at the Empire State Plaza.
