Sen. Joseph Griffo's Electronics Recycling Event

New York State Sen. Joseph Griffo, R-I-C-Rome, announced today that he is partnering with the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority to hold an electronics recycling event on Saturday, April 23 in celebration of Earth Day.  

The free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Oneida-Herkimer Recycling Center at 80 Leland Avenue Extension in Utica. The public may drop off electronics such as TVs, computers and other electronics. For a full list of acceptable items, visit www.ohswa.org.  

Confidata also will be on hand to shred up to three boxes, per car, of confidential documents and the state Department of Environmental Conservation and Oneida County Sewer District will be collecting unused or unwanted prescription medications (no sharps or needles).

WHO: State Sen. Joseph Griffo, Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority, Confidata, the state Department of Environmental Conservation and the Oneida County Sewer District.  

WHAT: The public is invited to drop off electronics like TVs, computers, and other electronics for free and safe disposal; confidential documents to be shredded (up to 3 boxes per vehicle); and old or expired prescription drugs (no sharps or needles).   

WHEN: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 23.  

WHERE: Oneida-Herkimer Recycling Center, 80 Leland Avenue Extension, Utica.
