Addabbo to Host Artist Showcase Displaying the District's Visual, Artist and Musical Talent

Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. is hosting an upcoming Artist Showcase to share the creativity and talent of his constituents with the rest of the community and beyond. It will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. at the Forest Hills Jewish Center, 106-06 Queens Boulevard in Forest Hills.

“This is not just a one-time opportunity to discover a new favorite artist, but rather a chance to create a long-term connection with fellow artists and art lovers in the area,” Addabbo said.

This event is a showcase, not a competition or talent show. The purpose is to highlight and promote the body of work of local artists. Each still artist will have approximately 4 feet of space to display or work within, while musicians will have access to a stage. Selling artwork or other items at the event is not permitted. However, artists are encouraged to promote their work.

There will be a variety of visual artists as well as singers and musicians. Painters, sculptors, and even quilters are also on the roster.

“While my office hosts a number of events which draw attention to serious issues, it is also important to have an event, once in a while, that is based solely on enjoyment,” Addabbo said. “During this festive season, we should have some fun.”
