Addabbo Joins Queens Library to Host Older Adult Fun Day

In a heartfelt tribute to the older adults in our community, Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. has teamed up with the Queens Public Library to host an Older Adult Fun Day at the Rego Park Library, located at 91-41 63rd Drive. The event will kick off at 10:15 a.m. on November 18, 2024, and features a variety of free activities designed for enjoyment and engagement.

The day will begin with “Get Up and Dance!” encouraging participants to stretch, move, and groove to a variety of dance styles and music. Following this lively session, at 11:45 a.m., attendees can participate in “Creative Aging: Drawing to See,” where they will learn foundational drawing skills and create their own greeting card. The festivities will culminate with “Get Rhythm,” featuring a mixed musical performance by "Squeaky Clean" at 2 p.m., offering a blend of standards, country & western, and early rock 'n' roll favorites.

"It's vital to celebrate and engage our older adults, who bring so much wisdom and joy to our community,” Addabbo said. “Events like these not only provide entertainment but also foster connections and creativity among participants."
