Update on the Reuse Process for Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo
Tuesday, April 23 at 5:30 p.m.
A community meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 23 at 5:30 p.m. in the Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Alford Auditorium. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the process being developed for the reuse of the current hospital’s campus once operations move to the new John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.
This open community meeting follows focus groups, public meetings and other discussions held in which neighbors, local residents, business owners, constituent groups, elected and other government officials gave input on how best to develop a productive reuse process for the site.
The agenda for this open community meeting will include:
- A brief overview of current plans for the new John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital;
- A brief overview of previous reuse plans developed for other Kaleida Health sites;
- A summary of input received during the previous preliminary discussions about the process to identify a reuse; and
- An introduction of those who agreed to be members of a community advisory committee throughout the upcoming reuse process.
The John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital is scheduled to be opened by early 2016. The vision for the new John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital is to be recognized as the innovator, the highest quality, highest value provider and partner, and the regional referral center for women and children’s health care for Kaleida Health, in Western New York and beyond.
