Elections and Voting Rights Hearing in Rochester and Western New York

Voting is how we as Americans decide our fate. It’s how we fund our schools and get our roads paved, but it’s also how we decide our response to urgent matters, like climate change, the opioid crisis, and the gun violence in our communities. Voting is the most sacred right of American citizens. I am firmly committed to strengthening our election process and improving accessibility and transparency in voting.

As a member of the Senate Committee of Elections, I am pleased to be collaborating with Committee Chair Senator Zellnor Myrie to host a public hearing on the election process. Your voice is welcome, and I hope you’ll join us to offer suggestions for how we can improve our statewide elections process and strengthen voting rights.

The hearing will be held at 12 PM on Thursday, August 5th at the Monroe County Office Building, and I invite you to share your experiences, ideas and suggestions with us. To present testimony at this public hearing, you must pre-register with this application to the Senate Elections Committee Chair more than 72 hours in advance of the hearing. The event will be live streamed online but participants must be present to
