When: Women’s Equality Day, Friday, August 26, 2022 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

HYDE PARK, NY - In recognition of Women’s Equality Day, Senator Sue Serino is inviting local Girl Scouts to visit her Hyde Park Office for an opportunity for future leaders to learn more about state government and the women who help make it work. This event will also aim to help connect local Girl Scouts with one another. 

“In recognition of Women’s Equality Day, I am thrilled to invite our local Girl Scouts to an Open House Event to learn more about how state government works and to help them understand the role they themselves can play,” said Senator Sue Serino. “As someone who was never interested in politics or government until much later in my life, I want to create an opportunity for young girls to learn more about state government so they can start to consider ways to get involved early on. Local Girl Scout troops do an incredible job instilling confidence and teaching the leadership skills their scouts need to thrive, and it is my hope that together we can empower them to be the next generation of leaders.”

Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to learn more about how State Government works, tour the Hyde Park Office, and learn more about the path Senator Serino took to become a State Representative. Light refreshments will be served.
