Putnam County Shed the Meds Day!

- Combating Heroin and Opioid Addiction
- Shed the Meds
Did you know that nearly half of young people who inject heroin report abusing prescription pain killers before starting to use the deadly drug? I’m writing to ask you to help us take a proactive approach to combating the heroin epidemic by getting unused prescription drugs off of our streets.
Monday, June 13th, I want you to ‘Shed the Meds!’ From 8:00pm – 4:00pm you can drop off your unused or expired prescription medications to one of these three convenient locations:
Philipstown Town Hall
238 Main Street Cold Spring, 10516
Putnam Valley Town Hall
265 Oscawana Lake Road Putnam Valley, 10579
Kent Police Department
40 Sybils Crossing Carmel, 10512
I will be traveling between these three locations in an effort to raise awareness for how quick and easy it is to dispose of you prescription drug medications. All that you have to do is drive up and drop off your unwanted prescription drugs. We take care of the rest! It’s a simple step that can make a huge difference in our community by helping to keep prescription drugs out of our kids’ hands.
Can’t make it out on the 13th? Local residents can bring their unused prescription medications to the two town halls during regular business hours or the Kent Police Department 24/7.
I hope that you will share this information with friends and family!
