SERINO TO HONOR LOCAL VETERANS WITH IN-DISTRICT VETERANS HALL OF FAME CEREMONY

Local veterans are invited to attend a unique ceremony hosted by Senator Sue Serino to honor local New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame Inductees. The free event will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 starting at 11:30 AM at the Henry A. Wallace Visitor and Education Center.

The Senate Veterans Hall of Fame was created to honor and recognize veterans from across New York State who have gone above and beyond both in the military and in their communities at home. Each year, NYS Senators are invited to nominate one outstanding veteran from their district for this honor. In past years, all inductees from across the state have been invited to the Capitol for a ceremony and a day of events honoring their accomplishments. However, since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the ceremonies have moved to a virtual format.

“We want to ensure that our local heroes get the recognition they deserve, which is why I am proud to host a special in-person ceremony right here in our local community honoring their outstanding work,” said Senator Serino. 

The event will honor inductees from the 41^st State Senate District from 2020, 2021 and 2022. The inductees are:

• Adam Roche, 2020 Veterans Hall of Fame Inductee and Director of Dutchess County Veterans Services;
• Alyssa Carrion, 2021 Veterans Hall of Fame Inductee and HERO Program Manager of Mental Health America of Dutchess County Veterans Programs; and
• Anthony Kavouras, 2022 Veterans Hall of Fame Inductee and Director of Mental Health America of Dutchess County Veterans Programs

“Adam Roche, Alyssa Carrion, and Anthony Kavouras are heroes in every sense of the word, and it is an honor to have been able to nominate them to the NYS Senate’s Veterans Hall of Fame,” Senator Sue Serino continued. “They all continuously go above and beyond for our local veterans through their work with the Vet2Vet Program and through their involvement with veteran organizations from across our community. I am incredibly excited to celebrate them with our neighbors who have benefitted from their efforts and recognize all of their extraordinary achievements and sacrifices.”
