Upcoming Veterans Appreciation Dinners
Senator Sue Serino and MHA of Dutchess County Vet2Vet Program will once again come together to honor local veterans at two free appreciation pasta dinners on Sunday, October 20th at the Knights of Columbus in Hyde Park and on Saturday, November 2nd, at the Beacon VFW.
Thanks to the support of the PFC Joseph P. Dwyer PTSD peer-to-peer veteran support program (Vet2Vet), the event is free and open to Dutchess County veterans and one guest. The Vet2Vet program was established by veterans, for veterans as a way to create a network our veterans can count on. These dinners showcase the important work that the Vet2Vet program is doing locally, as well as highlight some of the tools available to veterans suffering from PTSD, TBI, addiction and/or mental health issues. For more information, please click here. If you are interested in learning more about the program or know of a veteran in need, please call Adam Roche at 845-473-2500 ext. 1307. Referrals are not necessary, and the program is open to veterans of all ages.
“The words ‘thank you’ are not nearly powerful enough to describe the gratitude that our community has for our veterans—and their families. It’s important that we take every opportunity to show our appreciation and that’s what these annual events are all about,” said Senator Serino. “These events also provide an important opportunity to connect our vets to invaluable resources here in our local community, including the Vet2Vet program, which plays a direct role in helping our vets empower one another and enable them to live their lives to the fullest here at home. We hope our local veterans will come together once again and join us for a free, fun and well deserved dinner.”
“MHA of Dutchess Vet2Vet is proud to partner with Senator Serino to host these annual veterans pasta dinners,” said Adam Roche, Program Manager at MHA Vet2Vet Dutchess County. “Senator Serino has been an unwavering force in support of the veterans’ community, and was instrumental in implementing the Dwyer program here in Dutchess County. These dinners provide an important opportunity to thank our veterans, showcase the work we do and connect with veterans we may not have had the opportunity to reach yet.”
As always, nonperishable food items will be collected at each event to donate to the Castle Point Food Pantry. Seating is limited and RSVPs are required to attend. To reserve your spot, please call Senator Sue Serino’s office at 845-229-0106 today.
Members of the local media are invited to attend and encouraged to help spread the word.
