Serino & Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum host ‘Tackling Ticks: A Family Discovery Day’

Ahead of summer vacation, Senator Sue Serino, Chair of the Senate’s Task Force on Lyme and Tick-Borne Diseases (TBDs), and The Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, will host a free interactive, educational event to provide families with important information to help parents keep themselves, their kids, and their pets tick free.

This free event, ‘Tackling Ticks: A Family Discovery Day’ will utilize hands-on activities and learning stations to engage children and provide them important information on ticks and Lyme Disease in a way that is both fun and informative. This event will be held Saturday, June 16th at The Waterfront Pavilion at Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum from 1:00 until 4:00pm.

“As a mom, I know how nerve wracking it is to find a tick on your child, and we wonder if our kids would know what to do if they found a tick on them. It is critically important that our kids know to show an adult if ever they find a tick on them and we wanted to create and event that would teach them important tips like this in fun and age-appropriate way,” said Senator Sue Serino. “That’s why I’m hosting a free event for area children and families, so together, we can all learn how to be well prepared and have access to the informational tools that we need in order to stay tick free. I encourage local families and caregivers to attend”

The event is free and open to the public.
