SCHIMEL, McKEVITT -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT in relation to authorizing and directing the department of trans- portation to amend its five year capital plan to include the resurfac- ing of a certain portion of the state highway system THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the department of transportation is hereby authorized and directed to amend its five year plan to include the repairing and resurfacing of state route 25, Jericho Turnpike, from its intersection with Herricks Road east to its intersection with Glen Cove Road. Such repairing and resurfacing shall be completed in a timely manner and shall be done in a manner consistent with similar projects along such state route 25, made or to be made west of Herricks Road and east of Glen Cove Road. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD09215-01-9
