AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to  lease  vehicle
  protections

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 396-z of the general business  law  is  amended  by
adding a new subdivision 16 to read as follows:
  16.  EVERY  LEASE  SHALL  ITEMIZE  AND  SET  FORTH IN DETAIL ALL COSTS
REQUIRED TO BE PAID BY THE LESSEE OR PURCHASER  OF  THE  RENTAL  VEHICLE
UPON TERMINATION OF SUCH LEASE.
  S  2.  This  act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall
have become a law; provided, however, that  subdivision  16  of  section
396-z  of the general business law, as added by section one of this act,
shall survive the expiration and reversion of such section  as  provided
in section 4 of chapter 656 of the laws of 2002, as amended.
