THIELE, RAMOS -- read once and referred to the Committee on Social Services AN ACT to amend the social services law and the correction law, in relation to temporary emergency housing for sex offenders THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 136 of the social services law is amended by adding a new subdivision 6 to read as follows: 6. NOTWITHSTANDING THE PROVISIONS OF SUBDIVISION TWO OF THIS SECTION, IN THE EVENT THAT THE COMMISSIONER OF SOCIAL SERVICES FOR SUFFOLK COUNTY PLACES A HOMELESS SEX OFFENDER INTO ANY FORM OF TEMPORARY EMERGENCY HOUSING, SUCH COMMISSIONER SHALL, WITHIN TWENTY-FOUR HOURS, NOTIFY THE LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY AND PROVIDE THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE SEX OFFENDER BEING PLACED. S 2. Section 168-f of the correction law is amended by adding a new subdivision 7 to read as follows: 7. IN THE EVENT THAT THE COMMISSIONER OF SOCIAL SERVICES FOR SUFFOLK COUNTY PLACES A HOMELESS SEX OFFENDER INTO ANY FORM OF TEMPORARY EMER- GENCY HOUSING, SUCH COMMISSIONER SHALL, WITHIN TWENTY-FOUR HOURS, NOTIFY THE LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY AND PROVIDE THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE SEX OFFENDER BEING PLACED.
