BILL NUMBER:S7813 TITLE OF BILL: An act to repeal certain provisions of the civil practice law and rules, relating to the podiatric scope of practice PURPOSE: To repeal a provision of the civil practice law and rules that is inconsistent with other provisions in the civil practice law and rules and would establish a new approach to expert witnesses. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 of the bill would repeal subparagraph (iv) of paragraph 1 of subdivision (d) of section 3101 of the civil practice law and rules, as added by a chapter of the laws of 2012, amending the education law, the public health law and civil practice law and rules relating to the podiatric scope of practice, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S.7800 and A.9293-A. Section 2 of the bill provides an effective date. JUSTIFICATION:

LIBOUS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to repeal certain provisions of the civil practice law and rules, relating to the podiatric scope of practice THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subparagraph (iv) of paragraph 1 of subdivision (d) of section 3101 of the civil practice law and rules, as added by a chapter of the laws of 2012, amending the education law, the public health law and civil practice law and rules relating to the podiatric scope of practice, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 7800 and A. 9293-A, is REPEALED. S 2. This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same manner as a chapter of the laws of 2012, amending the education law, the public health law and the civil practice law and rules relating to podiatric scope of practice, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 7800 and A. 9293-A, takes effect.
