GOODELL -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Judiciary AN ACT to amend the judiciary law, in relation to judges in the eighth judicial district THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 8 of section 140-a of the judiciary law, as amended by chapter 500 of the laws of 1982, is amended to read as follows: 8. Eighth district, twenty-six, PROVIDED THAT THERE SHALL BE NO MORE THAN TWENTY-TWO JUDGES FROM ANY ONE COUNTY WITHIN SUCH DISTRICT; S 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall apply to judges elected after such effective date. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD06956-01-3
