AN ACT to amend the New York city health and hospitals corporation  act,
  in  relation  to the appointment of chief executive officers at hospi-
  tals

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 4 of section 1 of chapter 1016 of the laws of 1969,
enacting  the  New  York  city  health and hospitals corporation act, is
amended by adding a new subdivision 12 to read as follows:
  12. THE CORPORATION SHALL ASSURE THE APPOINTMENT OF AN  ON-SITE  CHIEF
EXECUTIVE OFFICER AT EACH HOSPITAL OPERATED BY THE CORPORATION.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
