BUTLER -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations AN ACT in relation to directing the division of military and naval affairs to establish policies on the security and protection of New York national guard and air national guard recruiting centers THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. 1. The division of military and naval affairs shall estab- lish policies to ensure the security and protection of New York national guard and air national guard recruiting centers from terrorist attacks. 2. The division shall provide sidearms or shall allow all New York air national guard or New York national guard and air national guard person- nel employed at recruiting centers to carry their own personal sidearm while onsite of the recruiting center. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD06074-02-7
