S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 4389 2019-2020 Regular Sessions I N A S S E M B L Y February 4, 2019 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. DenDEKKER -- read once and referred to the Committee on Election Law AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to requiring the board of elections to maintain a database of all campaign finance disclosure report filers and to provide a means to search such database for active filers THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The election law is amended by adding a new section 14-123 to read as follows: § 14-123. DATABASE OF CAMPAIGN FINANCE DISCLOSURE REPORT FILERS. THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS SHALL MAINTAIN A DATABASE OF ALL CAMPAIGN FINANCE DISCLOSURE REPORT FILERS ON ITS WEBSITE. THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS SHALL ESTABLISH A MEANS TO LIMIT A SEARCH OF SUCH DATABASE TO DISPLAY ACTIVE FILERS ONLY. § 2. This act shall take effect one year after it shall have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implementation of this act on its effective date are authorized to be made and completed on or before such effective date.
