MILLER, TAGUE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Codes AN ACT to amend part JJJ of chapter 59 of the laws of 2019 amending the criminal procedure law relating to the issuance of securing orders, in relation to the effectiveness thereof; to amend part KKK of chapter 59 of the laws of 2019 amending the criminal procedure law relating to time limits for a speedy trial, in relation to the effectiveness ther- eof; and to amend part LLL of chapter 59 of the laws of 2019 amending the criminal procedure law and the penal law relating to establishing new criminal discovery rules, in relation to the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 25 of part JJJ of chapter 59 of the laws of 2019 amending the criminal procedure law relating to the issuance of securing orders is amended to read as follows: § 25. This act shall take effect on January 1, [2020] 2021. § 2. Section 2 of part KKK of chapter 59 of the laws of 2019 amending the criminal procedure law relating to time limits for a speedy trial is amended to read as follows: § 2. This act shall take effect January 1, [2020] 2021. § 3. Section 14 of part LLL of chapter 59 of the laws of 2019 amending the criminal procedure law and the penal law relating to establishing new criminal discovery rules is amended to read as follows: § 14. This act shall take effect January 1, [2020] 2021; provided, however, the amendments to section 65.20 of the criminal procedure law made by section four of this act shall not affect the repeal of such section and shall be deemed repealed therewith. § 4. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD14203-01-9
